Capital Campaign
For 75 years, Wood County Hospital has been a trusted partner in the health and well-being of our region. As we look to the future, we are launching a transformational $7.5 million investment to ensure that exceptional, community-centered care remains strong for generations. This effort includes a $3.75 million community philanthropic campaign, which will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Wood County Hospital Foundation, bringing the total investment to $7.5 million.
Our hospital has touched so many lives in Bowling Green. Hear directly from the people who give and receive care here about why that legacy matters.

This campaign focuses on two urgent priorities that will shape the next era of healthcare in our region:

The Maurer Family Cancer Care Center’s linear accelerator must be replaced in the next 2-3 years to maintain exceptional cancer care locally.

We are replacing our 10-year-old linear accelerator with a state-of-the-art system that delivers faster, more precise, and more effective radiation therapy for cancer patients. While our current accelerator has provided thousands of lifesaving treatments over the past decade, advances in technology make now the right time to invest in the next generation of care.
The new system offers sub-millimeter precision, real-time imaging and motion tracking, faster treatment times, expanded options for complex cancers, and greater reliability. This investment ensures patients in Wood County can continue receiving world-class cancer care close to home, without traveling to Toledo, Ann Arbor, or Cleveland.

The team who treated me were angels – and the linear accelerator was one of their greatest tools. Investing in a new one means giving more people angels of their own.”
Physician retention is crucial for fostering trust and enhancing health outcomes. By focusing on recruitment, we can ensure that Wood County Hospital continues to thrive. As experienced physicians retire and patient needs evolve, welcoming new talent is vital. Investing in both our current and future physicians is not only essential for exceptional patient care but also for maintaining a strong workforce and promoting the vibrant health of our community for years to come.

Working in smaller hospital offers physicians autonomy, enhanced work-life balance and personal connections with their patients.”
